Food for Rats
The following poem has been used with permission
SHARING FOOD WITH RATTIES
I share my food with ratties.
Like ice cream on a stick;
I wait until they take a bite
And then I take a lick.
We always split my french fries
With ketchup on the top.
They stuff their rattie faces
'Til I think they're going to pop.
They dearly love my pizza,
Pepperoni, cheese and chives.
They grab a slice and drag it off,
The wicked little thieves.
And scarf down all my cheesecake
Without a single blush.
When I complain they shrug and say
my figure is too lush.
The ratties tell me kindly,
As they carry off my plate,
They're only trying to help
Since I need to lose some weight.
I wouldn't really mind so much
Being told that I'm too fat,
If the words weren't coming from the lips
Of a two pound, ten ounce rat.
